12:03 am - And the streak continues!
Earlier today, I posted the tenth chapter of my 'epic' fic-Fate;s Manipulation. I posted to FF.net and sent to FA. FF.net seems to be having fits but it IS there!
I had to rewrite half this chapter and to my amazement, I managed to bang out 3200 words in just over two hours. Its funny how things work. I've been building up to this chapter since first posting the fic, in early Sept 2001. I posted it a few days before I went away to LA and just a week and a half before all our lives changed.
I won't bore you with a 9-11 monologue. Instead, I'll tell you where I was when the fic was first started and the changes in my life. Back in Sept 2001, I was dearly missing my Australian fiance. We had spent two glorious months together, first in Australia then in America. He'd been home only about a month. I was startng to question some of my life decisions and we were entering a dialogue about where to live.
In our voice over IP conversations, we ften drifted to reading or writing and one day I just SAW this reunion scene in my head. It was a time for falling in love and I felt so creative. So...a fic was born.
Some nearly 3 yearsand 32,000 words later, the fiance is the husband (of nearly 2.5 years) and we've both found ourselves working in jobs that seemed just pip deams in '01.. I haven't been able to update this fic as much as I'd like to, but I truly do enjoy it and intend to stick with it.
Here's hoping the next ten chapters come to bme much quicker!

12:28 pm - The great soul sucking time (Includes fic!)
Just as I'm more productive, the soul sucking time begins. Between work, a couple of business trips and life, I'm feeling a wee bit frustrated.
But...I'm sharing something older that I wrote here. This was done for the Fiction Alley Valentines Day challenge. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue will hopefully help you (and I) get through the soul sucking period and back to creativity.
On the plus side, I did plot out the sequel to Shared Sadness this week and wrote about 2000 word, so all is not lost!

08:03 pm - Finished a fic!
Yes, I know, it's incredible, etc, but I actually FINISHED a fic! Shared Sadness is complete. It's now posted at Fanfiction.net http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1395052/1/ and is queued for Fiction Alley (The Dark arts).
If you read it, I'd love to know what you think! I was struggling for ages and ages on it and then the solution came to me in a flash of light...and a sequel . I'm rather pleased with it and have all SORTS of ideas for the sequel .

I picked up a challenge from the hpvalensmut community and had it finished and betad today, so it has been submitted. I hope the person asking for it likes it!
Plot bunnies have been nipping at me incessantly. Need time to write!

01:32 pm - Cookie for a new story!
Here is the cookie for a new story I'm working on called Kismet. Kismet features the fab trio, Bill, Remus, etc and should debut sometime in Feb.
Please tell me what you think of this cookie!
Remus stared for long moments at the shards of wood he clasped in his hands. The splinters dug into his bruised skin, but he viewed the pain as mere annoyance.
He was compelled.
He was driven.
He was obsessed.
Remus knew that this fixation was causing no end of problems but he was so close…so damn close. Still, while he had been following this dark path, people had been fighting a war. There had been no end of casualties on either side.
As he worried the shattered wood in one hand, he flipped through the ancient tome with his other. It had to be here…he had to gather what power he had to make things right.
His eyes alit on a scrap of parchment. Could it be? Remus dropped the wood and snatched the parchment up, twisting it this way and that. For some minutes, he merely studied the blank scrap, amazed that this could hold the answers.
“Remus?” The quiet voice was so startling that he dropped the parchment into the candle’s glow.
“Bill!” Remus turned back to the paper in abject horror. “What have you done?” Fingers reached into the flame with urgency, but it was too late. The parchment burned merrily, the light of the candle flickering in eagerness to devour their dreams.
In mere moments it was gone and Remus cradled his burned fingers to his chest.
“Why are you doing this to yourself,” Bill raged. As he turned the older man’s hand over, he was horrified to see jagged pieces of wood protruding from weeping wounds now further reddened by new burns.
“I have to.” Remus answered brokenly. “I have to fix this, Bill. You don’t understand. I—”
A cough startled them both. They were the only two people in the room…weren’t they?

So, now that I started this journal the trick is keeping it updated. What I intend to do here is post cookies and one-offs, some may be short and others longish...some may even turn into fics of their own.
I guess I should give you the basics about myself. I'm in my thirties and married. I work in the publishing field. I've been writing Harry Potter fanfic since 1998. I'm all over the canvas. I write slash and het, etc.
Some of my favorite characters are MPP, Lily, Bill Weasley, Ginny, Neville. I love exploring what could have beens.
